How to Setup rsnapshot and rsync to Make Simple Snapshot Backups

Most enterprise-grade network storage systems allow you to take “snapshots” of the filesystem stored on it so you can quickly restore a single file or directory…or even restore the entire filesystem to that point in time if need be.

So, what do you do if you’re a small business and don’t want to invest in an expensive enterprise-grade network storage system?

With a free tool named named rsnapshot, you can setup an effective snapshot system of your mission-critical data. It takes a little bit to get setup with the tool, so I’ve written a guide on how to get started with rsnapshot.  All questions and comments are welcome!
